Matthew Hupp
At
the age of five or six you'd probably see me fishing
off a small bridge over a creek that ran in front
of my grandfathers farm in West Virgina. At that time
the extent of my competition fishing was between my
cousin, me and the largest bluegill. As I grew older
my father and I fished a lot at Lake Erie for walleye
and eventually went on to feel the powerful fight
of the strippers in Tennessee's Norris Lake. Living
in Ohio, I had gotten fairly used to catching smallmouth
bass in the local creeks, also the occasional nice
largemouth by jumping a fence into a neiborhood gravelpit,
just to be kicked out only to do it again a couple
weeks later. I guess you can consider that determination.
Or stupidity.
A couple years after high school
I was able to get my fisrt bass boat, and from that
point on I ate, drank and slept fishing. Hitting every
local lake in the surrounding area, I discovered if
I wanted to be a pro angler I had to be fishing in
better water. So I made the big move from Hamilton,
OH to Dallas, TX where I work selling boats at the
Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine. I currently run the Media
Bass Texas Individual Trail at the age of 23.
I would like to take this time to
thank Mojo Lures for helping me live a dream. Also
a thanks for the support from my mom, dad and my sister
