NEW (Pat. Pend) Rig Saver

This weight system carries some of our Patented wire Technology, just like our H.P. Drop Shot sinkers. The weight incorporates the same cylindrical design concept as our popular Carolina Slider and Mojo sinkers, but has a couple added versatile features.

The weight hangs on your line in a vertical, straight up position, by use of a stainless steel wire loop, which is attached to the weight. A #10-30 lb. swivel is used as the sinker stop. This system allows the sinker to pivot and swivel on the line in any direction with a lot less resistance and drag, while sliding on the line, which also makes it a more snagless Carolina rig. This design eliminates damage to your line from abrasion and resistance because the line doesn’t slide through the entire length of the weight, just the wire eyelet. I will bet you that the Companies that are promoting the tungsten alloy weights would have loved to have been the ones to have created this method of attachment, you know the ones that are using Teflon spaghetti tubing in the bore of their weights to protect the line from damage. The Rig Savers method of attachment gives you the same characteristics of the Rock Hopper mentioned above, only not near as snag free, simply because the Rig Saver is not forced to stand straight up due to its design of attachment as that of the Rock Hopper, along with other design advantages.

The main key and advantage to this rigging method is that the wire can be attached to your line in a matter of seconds without cutting of your line or disassembly of your rig. The weight can then be inserted onto the wire loop, which is now attached to your line by sliding the wire legs of the Rig Saver wire through the weight bore and bending both wires up the entire length of the weight at the same time, using your thumb. Now simply cut the bent wire legs flush with the outside of the cylindrical weight, leaving no wire protruding past the outside of the weight to get fouled. Mojo offers flush cutters for cutting the stainless wire clean. The protruding wire legs can also be left after bending, allowing the weight to hold to the bottom when bait fishing in current or on a soft bottom with a lot less weight. Leaving the wire legs protruding works great for cat fishing, walleye fishing and any live bait presentations.

Due to the design of this weight system, if the sinker does happen to snag, the weight will release from the wire at approx 4 lbs of resistance, allowing you to retrieve your complete Carolina rig less the weight. Remember, the weight is almost always the culprit that snags and causes you to have to break the whole rig off. Now, you simply remove the old wire reversing the application, drop another wire onto the line in front of the swivel, feed the line around the wire loop, in a clockwise position as if you were threading your keys on a key ring, slide the weight onto the wire, bend and cut. Directions come in each package. Now you are back to fishin in about 20 seconds. This application causes absolutely NO damage or weakness to your fishing line. It is much quicker than tying a palomar knot. On an average, the normal rigging of the Rig Saver weight onto the line takes about 15-20 seconds. After a couple of applications it’s as fast as tying your shoe.
